Is it safe to go to a chiropractor?
Yes! Chiropractic care is one of the safest, most effective, and holistic forms of healthcare.
Who needs chiropractic care?
Anyone with a spine (that is everyone) can benefit from chiropractic care! Movement is life, and that includes the movement in your spine (which houses the nervous system.) Your nervouss system controls everything in your body. Our goal under care is for your brain to body and body to brain connection to be optimal. Still not sure? Do I need to go to the chiropractor if I am not in pain?
I think it is a safe assumption that more people prefer to feel well. No one likes pain! Chiropractic care is wonderful for preventive care before the pain arises. Small, everyday stressors (microtraumas) overtime can add up, leading to compensation and poor movement within the body. This will eventually lead to pain. We want to minimize the negative effects these stressors have on the body by removing interference within the nervous system.
What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a specific force used on a joint to correct a subluxation (or misalignment) and remove any nerve interference that is present. Chiropractors may use their hands, drop pieces on their chiropractic adjusting tables, or may utilize an instrument to illicit the force needed for correction.
Does it hurt to receive an adjustment?
Nope! The "cracking" or "popping" sounds are simply nitrogen gas leaving your joints. Chiropractic care is safe, gentle and effective for people of all ages!
Can I see a chiropractor when I am pregnant?
Absolutely! One of the biggest benefits from chiropractic care is your increased ability to adapt to change. During pregnancy there is a lot of change! Webster Technique is it designed specifically for pregnant women.
Why would a newborn get adjusted?
The birthing process is natural and beautiful, but it is hard work for both mom and baby! During birth, the infant's spine can be subjected to stress, leading to subluxations (or misalignments) within the spine and nervous system. Other reasons for an infant to see a chiropractor include latching issues, colic, sleeping issues, and constipation.
Do you take insurance?
We do not take insurance; however, our rates are comparable to most insurance copayments. We will be happy to provide you an itemized receipt to provide to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. Many times insurance companies are limited to what they will cover under chiropractic care. We do not want insurance to prevent you from receiving the proper care during your health journey.
How long is a typical visit?
Please plan for the Initial Examination to take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Regular adjustments typically take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes!
Does chiropractic require X-Rays?
Not always. You do not need x-rays to receive chiropractic care. If your chiropractor determines that you need X-rays during your Initial Examination, you will be provided a referral.
